Rise and Shine Academy

Quality Care and Education

Rise and Shine Academy (RSA) provides quality child care services to families of children between 1 month and pre-Kindergarten age.  The centers are open Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM.

Each classroom offers a developmentally appropriate program designed to promote skill development and social competency in a safe, nurturing environment.  Classroom teachers are certified by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and have experience caring for and educating young children.

Parents are encouraged to become active participants in their child's program through daily communication, parent-teacher conferences, participation in family activities and an open invitation to visit the classroom at any time.

Home-School Communication

RSA programs utilize the digital app Teaching Strategies Family by Tadpoles to build and maintain a strong home-school connection and keep you involved in your child's daily care activities. Your child's teacher will use the My Teaching Strategies App engagement tool to securely share photos and daily reports with you. You are able to enter morning drop off notes, mark your child absent and share other important information with your child's teacher. The My Teaching Strategies Family App also contains a digital library of interactive playlists filled with family-friendly activities that you can do with your child.

A Focus on Literacy

Reading is the most important educational skill a child will learn.  RSA programs are designed to promote the early communication and literacy skills that a child needs to become an independent reader.  Beginning with the language rich environment of the infant and toddler rooms; phonemic (sounds in words) awareness established in the preschool classes; to learning the relationship between sounds and letters and the ability to sound out words in the pre-kindergarten class, children engage in activities that encourage verbal communication, active listening, decoding abilities and an appreciation of literature.

Infants (6 Weeks to 15 Months)

Infant/toddler care at Rise & Shine Academy is provided in a nurturing, stimulating environment that allows your child to grow and develop to his or her fullest potential. The playroom offers the opportunity for exploration and discovery through movement, music, and a variety toys and books. The daily schedule is individualized to meet your child's needs for active play, small group activities, rest, and cuddling. Quiet time for naps and meals is provided. Your child's day will be a very special one filled with many new experiences and lots of loving care. Every effort is made to keep infants together with the same teaching staff for 9 months or longer.

Toddlers (15 Months to 33 Months)

Toddlers learn through a combination of active play and structured activities during which they can develop their own skills and learn to interact with others. It is our primary goal to help your child develop a positive self-concept and a strong sense of achievement. RSA provides a safe, nurturing environment where your child can engage in a wide variety of individual and group experiences. He or she will learn to develop social, language, motor, and creative thinking skills. Every day is filled with warmth, caring, and a whole lot of fun. Every effort is made to keep toddlers together with the same teaching staff for 9 months or longer.

Preschool (33 months to 5 Year Olds)

The preschool programs offer developmentally appropriate classrooms that encourage the child to grow and learn at his or her own pace. A wide variety of materials and activities provide an opportunity for exploration and acquisition of age appropriate concepts and skills. A special emphasis is placed on vocabulary enrichment, letter and sound recognition and exposure to a wide variety of children's literature. Children engage in activities to develop mathematical skills such as counting, forming patterns and problem solving. Classroom themes serve to develop a more comprehensive view of the world and an awareness and respect for cultural diversity. The preschool classroom helps the young child to develop a positive self-concept and a love of learning.
