Criterion - Milford Family Center

WHAT IS THE MILFORD FAMILY CENTER?

The Milford Family Center, located in downtown Milford, offers a wide variety of services and activities. Families with children between birth and six years of age, residing in the town of Milford, are welcome to participate in playgroups, parent educational and support activities, family field trips and a wide array of social activities. Resource and referral information is available to those who want to learn more about subjects such as; local child care programs, housing, medical providers, legal assistance and nutritional services.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The Family Center is open to all Milford families with children age six and under. There are no eligibility requirements. Monthly calendars and program announcements are distributed through the school system, local child care centers and mailed to program participants. The Milford Family Center provides services to all eligible children and their families without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, country or national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, political affiliation or handicapping condition.

WHO SPONSORS THE MILFORD FAMILY CENTER?

The Milford Family Center is sponsored by a collaboration of local early childhood programs. The Center for the Development of Human Services, Inc., the Milford Healthy Families Program, the Valley Child Development Early Intervention Program, the Milford Family Network Project and the Milford Community Partnership for Children join together to offer a community site where families with young children can come together to socialize and learn more about positive parenting.

Funding is provided by a grant from the Massachusetts Children’s Trust Fund. Tax deductible donations are always welcome to defray program costs.

The Milford Family Center Coalition, a group that includes parents and area service providers, meets monthly to plan activities offered by the Family Center. New members are always welcome. To join the Coalition or find out more about it, call (508) 473-8112

THE MILFORD FAMILY CENTER HOURS OF OPERATION

To obtain resource and referral information, call or visit the Family Center Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Programs and activities are offered at various times throughout the week and on weekends.
